Information: |
The Wick River is a slow moving spate river which offers approximately 10 miles of double bank fishing for Salmon, Trout & Sea trout. This highly productive river hosts over 40 named pools, including: The Pot. Katie,Gows. Borgie, Tarroul and Quarry Hole. All of which can easily be covered by a 12-13ft Salmon fly rod or single-handed grilse rod. There is good access and parking available, and as the banks are free of trees wading is not necessary. Salmon are expected from late March with summer rain giving the best prospects and conditions for the Grilse runs. The annual catch remains solely in the hand of the "rain gods". The 10 year average is just over 400 Salmon.
