Loch Information: |
St. Johns loch is situated just outside Dunnet, a small village about 6 miles East of Thurso. It is a reasonably small loch, about half a mile by half a mile. In June there is also a prolific Mayfly hatch. The trout average just over a pound, although 3-4lb fish are also recorded every year. St. Johns Association are made up of local fisherman who also run a local hatchery, ensuring that a good level of stocked fish is maintained year after year.
